Helping babies and toddlers eat and sleep with less stress, through sensory-informed Occupational Therapy and parent support, in Austin, Texas
Our vision is to provide holistic, science-backed feeding and sleep support that strengthens early development in a way that feels empowering for both children and their families.
At OTier, we specialize in helping babies and young children build the foundations of eating, sleeping, and regulation. We look at the whole child, their strengths, routines, sensory needs, environment, and the adults who support them every day, because feeding and sleep challenges are never just about food or bedtime.
Whether we’re working with parents, nannies, doulas, or other providers, our approach centers on collaboration and research-driven strategies that create meaningful, lasting progress in daily life. OTier Pediatric Therapy exists to make feeding and sleep support feel accessible, collaborative, and truly effective, one developmental tier at a time.
The OTier Model
Choose Your Tier
Tier 1
Empower
-
If everyday moments feel harder than they should, meals feel stressful, routines feel chaotic, or your child becomes easily overwhelmed, this tier helps you understand what’s underneath and how to respond with confidence.
This tier is often a supportive first step for families seeking guidance around infant feeding, toddler feeding challenges, and sensory processing difficulties, especially when you want to understand the “why” before pursuing direct pediatric therapy.
Together, we focus on the foundations that shape daily life, regulation, routines, and meals, so you feel more equipped, and your child feels more settled.
-
Understanding Your Child’s Sensory World
Make sense of how your child experiences everyday sensations, so their reactions feel less confusing, and you know how to support them.Calmer, More Positive Mealtimes
Learn gentle, regulation-based strategies that reduce pressure and help meals feel safer and more connected.Co-Regulation & Emotional Safety
Support your child through big feelings and transitions so they can settle, recover, and feel secure.Predictable Daily Rhythms
Create routines that reduce overwhelm, support regulation, and make days feel more manageable.Play That Supports Development
Use simple, everyday play to strengthen regulation, connection, and emerging skills.
Tier 2
Support
-
When feeding struggles persist, regulation feels difficult, or development isn’t unfolding as expected, and your child needs more support than coaching alone, some children benefit from direct therapeutic support alongside parent guidance.
This tier provides individualized occupational therapy that targets the underlying sensory, motor, and regulatory foundations shaping daily life. Sessions are sensory-informed and grounded in everyday routines, including meals, motor milestones, transitions, play, and self-care, so progress feels meaningful and functional.
-
SOS Feeding Therapy
Gentle, pressure-free feeding support that builds comfort, curiosity, and positive eating experiences.Fine Motor & Visual-Motor Skills
Strengthening of muscles through functional activities.Sensory Integration & Regulation
Supporting the nervous system through movement-based sensory experiences that improve regulation and participation.Reflex Integration
Addressing retained reflex patterns that may interfere with posture, movement, and coordination.Early Developmental Foundations
Supporting motor, sensory, and regulatory skills that underlie healthy milestone progression.Self-Help & Daily Independence
Building confidence in everyday skills like dressing, feeding, and participation in routines.
Tier 3
Sleep
-
Designed for families of infants and toddlers who feel exhausted and discouraged after trying sleep strategies or consultants that didn’t fit their child, and want support that actually addresses the roots of sleep struggles, not quick fixes or disconnected advice.
Rather than promising overnight solutions, this approach focuses on building strong sleep foundations through consistent bedtime routines and interventions, naps, and predictable daily rhythms that support regulation and carry over across environments. By supporting the adults first, children feel more settled, supported, and ready for restful sleep, at home and across care settings.
-
This tier brings the adults in your child’s world into alignment, so strategies feel consistent, supportive, and easier to carry across everyday environments.
Collaboration may include:
Parents and primary caregivers
Keeping you at the center, with shared understanding and consistent feeding, sleep, and regulation support at home.Nannies, doulas, and in-home caregivers

Testimonials
Trusted by Parents
Seriously! But don’t take our word for it; here are some things parents have to say about us.
“When I think of Whitney, I think kind, Genuine, and Supportive. She got to know and understand how our son’s behavior works and used that knowledge to teach us parents meaningful skills that even helped us reduce our child’s behavior. What stood out to me was that Whitney would access a tantrum and provide us with at least two different techniques to apply and it really helped us as parents to get to know our child as well as what worked and what did not work. Whitney is so kind, she is patient, and speaks out of genuine concern. She has made a huge impact on my family, and I have no doubt she will continue that in her own private practice! So much success to you Whitney!”
– Tina A, Parent
“My child has reached so many goals working with Whitney. She has advanced so much in the short amount of time we have worked together.”
– Ashley B, Parent
“Whitney worked with my son for the past year and she was a huge support during a time when we were still trying to understand his sensory needs. Even though all of our sessions were over Zoom, she made a real effort to get to know him and connected with him better than I expected for a virtual format. She gave me practical tips, parent resources, and clear feedback during every session nothing vague or overwhelming, just things I could actually use day-to-day. She was also incredibly flexible with scheduling and understanding when life happened and I needed to cancel or shift things around.”
– Silvia C, Parent
FAQs
You’ve got questions,
we’ve got answers
-
A pediatric occupational therapist helps children build the skills they need for everyday life, such as feeding (infants and toddlers), sensory regulation, motor development, play, difficulty with sleep routines, potty training skills, self-help, and independence. At OTier Pediatric Therapy, we use evidence-based, family-centered approaches through parent coaching, therapy, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
-
Parents often seek OT when they notice challenges with sleep, feeding, motor milestone delays, sensitivities to clothing, touch, or sound, difficulty focusing, fine- and gross-motor delays, meltdowns during transitions, sensory processing difficulties, or trouble with independence.
If you’re unsure, we offer free screenings to help you understand whether OT support is appropriate.

While at OTier Pediatric Therapy, we can see children of all ages. We specialize in supporting children from newborn through early childhood. Our services are intentionally designed for babies, toddlers, and young children during their most important developmental years.
-
Yes— OTier Pediatric Therapy offers community-based services in the Austin area, including support in the home, schools, and daycare settings.
We also provide secure, high-quality telehealth occupational therapy across the entire state of Texas. Our interactive, evidence-based sessions are designed to support developmental growth, regulation, and confidence, both in everyday environments and from the comfort of home.

Yes — but it’s a different kind of sleep consultation support.
Many families come to us after investing in sleep services that ended up doing more harm than good. This is common, and it’s not a failure on your part. Much of the sleep support market isn’t medically regulated, and many providers aren’t trained to assess development, sensory regulation, or daily routines that directly affect infant and toddler sleep.
OTier is different because our support is guided by a licensed occupational therapist and grounded in developmental science, sensory regulation, and daily routine, rather than generic sleep-training methods.
Tier 3 uses top evidence-based strategies and begins by supporting parents where they are at and may expand to include other providers (such as daycare, early intervention, or therapy teams) when helpful. The focus is on helping everyone involved use consistent, developmentally appropriate, and evidence-based strategies that support sleep, regulation, and daytime functioning.
The goal of Tier 3 is to bring clarity, confidence, and sustainable sleep routines that work across home and care environments, so families are no longer left sorting through conflicting advice or approaches that don’t align with their child’s developmental needs.

The SOS Approach to Feeding is an evidence-based, step-by-step feeding method that helps feeding challenges, picky eaters, and children with sensory or oral-motor challenges learn to try new foods in a gentle, playful, and stress-free way. An SOS-trained feeding therapist is highly skilled at building food confidence through sensory exploration, developmental skill-building, and positive mealtime routines without pressure or battles.
Parents choose SOS because it supports children who struggle with:
Picky eating or limited food variety
Sensory sensitivities with textures, smells, and temperatures
Gagging, refusal, or fear around foods
Oral-motor delays
Stressful or emotional mealtimes

Therapy frequency depends on your child’s needs, goals, and method of service. Some children benefit from weekly therapy, while others thrive through our parent-coaching model, which empowers caregivers with strategies to use every day. This will be determined after the evaluation is completed.
-
Tier 2, also known as direct therapy, focuses on direct intervention with your child, while Tier 1, parent coaching, helps caregivers learn and understand practical, evidence-based strategies they can use throughout daily routines. In Tier 1, we consult with caregivers to support the whole child. This model can be conducted via phone call or video session. Research shows that coaching (Tier 1) accelerates progress and helps skills stick long-term. Tier 1 (coaching) can also be used as a stepping stone to Tier 2 (direct therapy).

At this time, we do not accept insurance. OTier Pediatric Therapy is a private-pay practice because insurance plans often place limits on the type, frequency, and duration of care we can provide. By staying independent, we’re able to offer flexible, individualized, and truly supportive therapy based on your child’s needs, not insurance restrictions.
If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, we’re happy to provide a superbill that you can submit for potential reimbursement. Our priority is ensuring your child receives the highest-quality, evidence-based care, and this model allows us to maintain that standard.
For Sleep Consulting, payment plans are available upon request
